Computer Forensic Systems

The evolution of forensic computing means that hidden or deleted computer data can now be found – quickly, reliably and efficiently. If evidence lies in hidden, system files, deleted or partially overwritten areas anywhere on the storage medium, Vogon’s Computer Forensic Systems will find it. These systems are designed for use by our own investigators, and by other professional investigators such as police, IT security staff and customs officials.

Vogon’s Computer Forensic Systems comply with the best practice guidelines for the capture of computer evidence. They integrate seamlessly with normal investigative procedures and have a proven track record in court. To ensure a successful prosecution, the target or suspect computer remains unaffected by the evidence capture process and a full audit trail (procedural record) is automatically maintained.

Specialist hardware and high performance imaging software is used to capture images of the target or suspect media. Our unique password cracking pod may be used too if platter locked lapdrives are encountered. Powerful search and analysis software is then used to access the information as required for the investigation. Information or data can be accessed from all areas of the image, including areas that would not be accessible via the original operating system. Full training is available to ensure that investigators can make maximum use of the facilities provided by Vogon’s Computer Forensic Systems.
